Robert reports that the prostitutes seem to be back in force, unfortunately. Their new MO is to be in a car and rendevouz with their clients down on the dark side street at Fairview and Hunnicut -- on the other side of Dolphin.
So our calm was short-lived.

prostitutes
Our "favorite" madam who was evicted on Culver Street was seen on Kinmore street. So it appears she is still in the neighborhood, just moved south. There is a suspicious house on Kinmore so that is where she may have gone. Keep your eyes peeled.
Also, a full carload of whores, pimps and others (8-10) was spotted at 3218 Culver early Saturday morning. So they are apparently still with us. There has been more cars and activity since Vic came home.
However, Vic once again has not called his parole officer so he may be gone again. One can only hope.

Prostitutes and other scofflaws
According to Robert -- after seeing the ladies of the night on Dolphin -- they haven't been there the last couple of nights.
Not sure if it was the call to the Vice officers or just the fact they know we are watching.
Similarly, there has been very little activity at 3231 Culver (the house we suspected was selling drugs after 3218 was raided) and where the car used in the robbery was spotted.
When the police showed up about the car (even if they did nothing) -- it perhaps brought home the fact that people are watching and they decided to decamp.
So I think the lesson is that active watching appears to be a deterrent.

They're Back
When Robert drove the neighborhood this morning on his way to work, there were 4 of our ladies of the night plying their trade on Dolphin Road.
One ended up at 3227 Kinmore -- which we suspect of having drug activity.

Update
Unfortunately, it appears the Ronny from the Drug House is scheduled to be back out on the streets sometime this month according to his sometime girlfriend so I expect that activity will be picking back up. We have had more activity since Vic has been back.
Robert followed a suspicious character who used to be seen at the drug house and he went to 2919 Jerome -- a known drug house off and on for 20 years. Our suspicion is that since we have put so much pressure on at our end, it is moving somewhere else.

Eviction - Part 2
The belongings that were stacked outside are gone. Hopefully that is the last we will see of Mama Hawaii and her compatriots.
The house is empty and locked and has a paper sign in the window directing people who might be interested in the house.
Robert was able to go inside and says it needs paint, etc. but is in better shape than he expected for a house that has not had water utilities for a couple of years. It is a pretty sound house and could be really attractive with a little care.
So if you know anyone interested, we could use some new "nice" neighbors.

Eviction at the House of Prostitution
Yesterday, the contents of this house were placed outside and the door appears locked.
Usually this is done by the Constables and the time it takes to get to this point can be up to six months. One has to file in court etc. etc.
This would make sense since the property was sold -- I expect in foreclosure or just prior to foreclosure a few months back -- and the new owner would have to dot all i's and cross all the t's.
All of the property is on the porch covered in sheets and there doesn't appear to be anyone in the house.
Hopefully Mama Hawaii will find a place for her belongings and her unsavory tenants and guests in a new neighborhood.

Ladies of the Day and Night
Last night as I was coming home about 7:30 I noticed a young woman -- white, blond hair-dark roots, young, blue jean shorts and white tank top -- on Culver Street.
I stopped to chat with one of my neighbors who told me the young woman had been up and down the street several times.
I pulled over to talk with her -- asked her where she lived. She mumbled Kinmore Street. I asked what number. Her reply was a bogus number and I told her so and said it appeared she was a street walker and that we really didn't want her in our neighborhood.
She said "Yes, mam"
I don't think she will leave that easily, so keep an eye out.

3118 Culver
Last night in the middle of the night I noticed people with flashlights around this house. After a little investigation, it turns out to be 4 police cars.
They were there because of electricity theft. The occupants are apparently routing around the meter. Only Chester (the tenant in the back room) was there. Vic was not around.
They were also looking for Brandon Love (Bootsie) who hasn't been seen since the last raid. He apparently has outstanding warrants.

Water
There have been several reports that the tenants at the Confederate house do not have water service and have been stealing water from the house next door -- Dororthy's old house that is currently for sale.
I checked with the Water Department and they advised that there is no service at the Confederate house and transferred me to 911 to make a report. 911 advises that someone actually has to be there to make the report and so I just let that go.
I did call the sales agent for Dororthy's house who was grateful that I called.
Perhaps if the confederates move she will have a better chance to sell the property.
