We have had a rash of illegal 4 wheelers on Culver Street. On Tuesday night, racing up and down the street keeping people awake.
I kept thinking they would maim or kill themselves, but so far they haven't cooperated so I have started calling the police.
They appear to come from 3219 and 3222 Culver.
If you see them, please call the police.

Another of our Entrepreneurs
Another prostitute has been picked up and she apparently has some felony convictions so they expect she will be housed by her government for at least 2 years.
She gave her address as 3218 Culver.
We are once again seeing more activity at that house with people sitting on the porch as lookouts which usually signals drugs. So we will keep an eye out.

Success
Yesterday, Vice picked up 3 of our entrepreneurs over on Samuell Boulevard. (they gave their addresses as the houses we have identified in our neighborhood)
Two of them are on probation so will probably be seeing jail time of at least 6 months. And the Vice officer advised them that since he was getting pressure from his chief to cleam up this neighborhood, it would wise if they didn't come back to this neighborhood when they are released.
They were still researching the 3rd and expected they would be able to find a charge.

Mr. Boone
I understand that Mr. Boone has died. He lived in 3018 Culver but had been failing with Alzheimer's or dementia. His neighbor advised me this morning that he died about a month ago.
He was a long time resident. His wife still resides in the home and is apparently going to stay at least for the present time. Their house was one of the first to receive the Neighborhood Improvement Grant.

They appear to have left the building --- Hooray.
Though they have left quite a mess, pallets, tires and general trash. But hopefully we have seen the last of them.
One of the neighbors thinks they were behind the theft of the copper from the newly remodeled house next door to them, as well stealing the dog from across the street and the pregnant dog down by me.
So I don't think anyone is really sorry to see them go.

Ladies of the Day and Night
Our friendly neighborhood entrepreneurs seem to be back in force.
One was being dropped off this morning at 7:30 when I was taking my walk and then another car showed up with 2 more. I chased 2 of them out of the park on Saturday.
So I called Vice and had a long talk with them and they have promised to try to do something in the next 7 to 10 days -- but the with proviso that even if they do, since they don't stay long in jail they will probably be back. But I figure if they get harassed enough they may move on.
He also told me there is a "john" website with photos of customers, but I figure anyone who would consort with the "ladies" in our neighborhood probably doesn't have computers or doesn't care.

Shootings - It's That Time of Year
You don't have to live in this neighborhood long to learn that "random" gun fire is most rampant when the temperature soar to the upper 90's and triple digits. The past two weeks has followed suit.
The latest example was at 1am Sunday morning. I was up, sick, and heard seven quick gunshots. As I was very sick at that moment, I didn't call. But within minutes, St. Charles and Fairview were crawling with police cars with their search lights on. Someone had called 911.
It's time to urge all of our neighbors to be vigilant about calling in EVERY gunshot they hear. Again, crime reports in our neighborhood don't seem to be all that bad - however, reports are based primarily on calls to 911. Further, police attention is provided to those neighborhoods who tend to have the most 911 calls.

News of the Neighborhood
Robert has identified the houses of interest as 3227 Kinmore, 3243 Kinmore as well as 3218 Culver.
There is a lot of traffic between them, same cars parked there and the prostitutes and drug dealers who hang out on Dolphin Road invariably head back to one of these houses.
The good news is the the Community Police officer is back on the job and Robert has been in touch with her and she has promised to help in cleaning this up.
The other good news is that the man who bought the house that backs up to 3243 Kinmore and is fixing it up is not prepared to put up with much, so we have another ally in the neighborhood.
On a sad note, our neighbor who lives next to Robert's lot on Fairview had a stroke and died. -- Only 37.
