Tax Foreclosure

For about 2 years now, the City was supposed to foreclose on 3218 Culver for about $20,000 in unpaid taxes. The most recent date was June 4. It came and went because they supposedly had not served one of the owners until 2 days prior.

It is now scheduled for July 9. Once the judgment is obtained, it takes 30 days for the judgment to become final. At the end of that 30 day period, Linebarger can put the property up for sale.

If the price is right, I am seriously considering trying to purchase it to make a community orchard/garden.

Unpaid Tickets - Dallas County's New Website

Get bored from time to time? Go take a look at Dallas County's newest website: the County's Top 50 Most Wanted for unpaid tickets. You can view names, photos, total balance, and each ticket and the associated fine. Rather interesting - and sad at the same time.

The top 50's outstanding balances range from $9,700 to $21,600 ... and get this, most of the violations by Mr. Joel Israel Green was "fare evasion".

Meeting Report

Maureen -- our neighborhood prosecutor -- had the monthly meeting last Saturday.

3218 Culver -- the boarded house -- is scheduled for tax foreclosure this week.

3231 Culver -- vacant, HGW, etc. She finally has been able to find a phone number for the owners and hopefully they will respond to the violations.

They are keeping an eye on the 2 houses purchased by the slumlord to be sure that he complies with codes in repairing them.
