Well, I got sort of a round the backdoor answer -- implying that this murder was not out of the ordinary of drugs, gangs, etc. Though the police understandably won't give out information while the investigation is going on.
They did tell me that if there is something that endangers the public, they would be putting that out in all ways possible. For example, a serial killer so that the public could protect itself.
So I guess the fact that we haven't heard anything is good news???

Murders
I have calls out to the police and others who might give us any information on the murders that happened at 5315 Beeman.
If they are drug related, my level of concern lessens a little bit. If this is some crazy home invasion thing, my concern is sort of off the chart. Waiting for replies.
In the meantime, I called SE and asked for extra patrol. The person I talked to said that they were planning that for the next 2 weeks.

2 murders in our neighborhood.
DALLAS — Two men were found slain in a small brick house near Fair Park in Dallas Tuesday morning.
Family members came to the house, in the 5300 block of Beeman Avenue, and found the two men, ages 36 and 30, inside the home. Detectives were waiting for a search warrant to investigate inside the home.
Dallas police homicide Lt. Craig Miller said, "We know several people live at this house. That's the reason for the search warrant. I don't know if both individuals inside live at the location or not." Investigators didn't offer details other than saying it's a bloody scene inside the house. "Both people died as a result of homicidal violence," Miller said. Gang unit members outside the home were speaking with several distraught young men. But Miller said that they don't have indications that the deaths were gang-related. "They were probably in the area and came by to assist," he said of the gang unit members.
From the picture on the web, this appears to be second or third house south of Culver.

Tires
It was my understanding that you were not allowed to put tires out for bulk trash pickup -- bad for the landfill, etc. etc.
When one buys new tires, they charge you to dispose of the old ones. Well -- according to code enforecment, turns out that you can put out up to 4 tires.
