Update on Vacant houses

3219 Culver -- the foreclosed duplex.  It appears to be pretty much done and he has done a pretty good job.  City has told him he can't rent the garage on an already non-conforming duplex.  Hopefully he will abide by that.  He got off on the wrong foot with me when I happened to catch him going through the fence to my highway garden to steal the pomegranates.

3231 Culver -- the tarp house.  They are really doing a first class job on this house that was condemned.  All new roof and wood above the brick, new windows.  I don't know if they are going to rebrick the whole thing or not, but so far, they have been doing a great job.

Extra Patrol

I actually saw a police car go through early last evening.  I have alerted everyone on the block.

I called this morning and asked that the extra patrol go through the alley and they said they will do that.

All of the burglars have entered in the back of the house and are going out the alley. 

More Crime

I just heard from Russell at 3230 Culver that he also has been burglarized and the woman at 3226 Culver has been burglarized for the second time in 2 months. 

I have talked with the Neighborhood Patrol Officer and she is going to ask for additional patrol.

Mrs. Brooks has not been robbed -- the only one on the block -- probably because she is home all day.  The suspect in one of the robberies lives in the other house not robbed.  Interesting. 

Now it is a crime spree

A large screen TV was stolen down on Culver on the other side of Dolphin in the 3500 block.    I have talked to the crime stat person and have asked the police for extra patrol.

I believe that 3210 Culver and the 3500 block address have not called the police (immigration status in at least one case)  so I wanted to be sure the police knew about them.

Burglary

Apparently, the house across the street from me at 3210 Culver was burglarized and his TV taken. 

Presently, that is all I know, but will try to find out more info.

This is starting to feel like a crime spree -- 3226 Culver, 3210 Culver and the house on St. Charles -- all within a relatively short period of time.   

I wouldn't be surprised if the guys who did 3226 also did 3210.  The young gang guys. 

Dogs

The dog at 3127 Culver is constantly out -- it can simply jump the fence they have.  I have called it in 311 numerous times, advised Maureen (anyone getting ANY response from her on anything?), called City Council.

Unless the dog is out when they go by, there isn't much they can do.  And they can't even check for license and neuter since these people never answer the door.

I did get a call back from Animal Control who gave me the number 214-670-3278 -- which is supposedly a line directly to them when an animal is out.  (Maybe 24 hours rather than 3 weeks)  Anyway, I pass it along for what it is worth (probably not much).
