Success

I just received a phone call from the police.  They have apprehended the young man from 3222 Culver who we suspect is the culprit in many of the problems.  He apparently also has offenses in Mesquite which is what got him caught.

I am still wondering why the fingerprints collected in our neighborhood never seem to have been connected.  I think they just do fingerpint collection for show.

Success in the 5600 block of Culver

I received the following message from Ms. Milligan.  It appears that we have success on these long-standing problems.  Hooray.

"I wanted to let you know that we met with the owner of 5610 Culver last week. He has removed all items from his home that are related to his business and will no longer have his employees coming to the house in the morning. However, you may still see panel vans there occasionally, because he is in the process of renovating the house so that him family can live there.

The owner of 5634 Culver has removed the illegal kitchens from the home and will be demolishing a portion of the house that build without permits.

I also noticed that the movie set fence was finally demolished and the owner put up a new fence. Marilyn was working hard on that case."

Rest in Peace, Christene Taylor

Christene Taylor, long-time President of the Owenwood Neighborhood Association, passed away on Friday.  The funeral service will be at 11 a.m on Saturday, February 19 at St. Luke's church.  The wake will be on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the church.

Christene worked tirelessly to improve the neighborhood.  She will be missed.

Crime Stats

According to the Crime mapping site, it has been pretty quiet in our neighborhood.  The only currently reported is a car break in at 5100 Dolphin -- which I believe is at the church.  While I am sorry that someone's car was broken in to -- I am happy that everything else is quiet.

This is the link to a crime mapping site.  It is very user friendly and easily readable.  Crimes stay up for a week.  Our only crime this week [reported] was an assault on a black female in the 3100 block of Culver.
