Due to the drought, it appears that we will be losing trees in the neighborhood. A really sad thing.
Trees need to have a slow drip for probably a day to sustain them. If you have influence with any of our neighbors, please urge them to water. I know that water is expensive, but not nearly as expensive as having to cut down the tree and then try to replace it.
One lovely 20 foot red oak on Culver looks like it has already succombed.

break in
After a period of quiet, my neighbor was broken in to. It was clearly someone in the neighborhood since they left the lights on and were only gone for a few hours. Door was forced. They also broke the windows on the rear duplex unit but gave that up -- perhaps when they figured out that the tenants were home.
We suspect the usual suspect because whoever did it had to be watching.
And I was just saying to someone how nice and quiet it has been.
