  • Project transformation daycamp

    Our wonderful after-school partners, Project Transformation North Texas, are hosting a day camp this summer at Owenwood! The programs is for children grades 1-5, and focuses on enriching mind and body with an emphasis on literacy. Each day, children read one-on-one with community volunteers and participate in activity-based literacy intervention. Children also participate in daily enrichment activities including recreational play and exercise, creative arts, and interaction with our young adults and community volunteers, who inspire and encourage youth daily to make responsible, sound decisions.   • Kickoff sports camps

    We’re partnering with Kickoff Sports to host two summer basketball camps for elementary students! Both of these camps will be held at neighboring S.S. Conner Elementary. Campers will learn and practice fundamental basketball skills, make new friends playing the game, and get to take home some new sports equipment for themselves! The first camp will be held from June 5-8 and the second camp from July 24-27. If interested, use the link below to register!

  • IMPACT DALLAS FAMILY FRIDAYS

    IMPACT Dallas is offering a free 8 week program (called Family Fridays) for parents who are big on learning! Topics will include scholarships/financial aid, mental health awareness, community resources, financial literacy, and more! While parents are in class, the kids will work on arts and crafts with Impact Dallas staff! To register, please use the link below!

  • cacd RUN WITH THE PACK ART CAMP

    Join our East Dallas collaborative partners from the Creative Arts Center of Dallas for this year’s Run With the PACK mural painting camp! This FREE camp is for ages 12-16, and is limited to 10 students, with camp running from June 20-22 and 26-29 at Owenwood. Campers will learn about public art, mural making, and participate in the painting of a collaborative community mural on the Owenwood building! Registration can be found at the link below!

  • SENIOR WATERCOLOR CLASS

    Join our senior community at Owenwood for a watercolor painting class, taught by long-time East Dallas art instructor Nancy Cole! This six-week course allows students to learn and practice watercolor painting techniques, with all supplies provided! No experience necessary - beginners are welcome!   • ymca family fit for health

    Owenwood and the YMCA of Dallas are partnering to offer a summer edition of their FIT (Families Improving Together) For Health Program, a free 11-week healthy lifestyle program for parents and kids to attend and learn TOGETHER! Each evening session offers fun physical activities for families, lessons on healthy habits, guided goal-setting, access to the YMCA, and more!
